Data Sources
Draft — the technical description below accurately reflects how this site sources data, but full compliance with each API's terms of service should be confirmed by a lawyer before launch.
Most listings on NYC Jobs Finder are submitted directly by employers through Post a Job. To keep the board populated while the site grows, we also sync in publicly available and licensed job listing data from the following sources:
NYC Open Data — "NYC Jobs"
Public, open government data published by the City of New York (data.cityofnewyork.us), listing open positions with New York City agencies. This data is synced automatically approximately every 6 hours; positions no longer present in the source are automatically removed from browsing on this site. Because this feed does not include a direct per-listing application link, the Apply button for these listings points to the official NYC Jobs portal — the Job ID shown in the listing can be used to search for it there.
USAJobs.gov
The official job listing API of the U.S. federal government (usajobs.gov), when enabled. Covers federal positions based in New York City. The Apply button links directly to the official USAJobs.gov posting.
Adzuna
A licensed job search API (adzuna.com), when enabled, aggregating private-sector listings from a range of employers and job boards. The Apply button links directly to the original posting via Adzuna.
Accuracy
Details on synced listings (salary, requirements, deadlines) reflect what the original source had published as of the last sync and may have changed since. We do not independently verify third-party sourced listings beyond what the source itself publishes. If something looks wrong or outdated, please let us know via Contact.
